1960s: The Earths of the Tagliamento |

These images pertaining of matter, where
the colour is dense and fullbodied, are a reply to the
conventionality of naturalism. After all they are nothing but
landscapes, where the earth is dark and muddy in the presentiment
of the imminent presence of the river. Far from the physical
reality of Venice, Lucatello is now searching for, and finding,
a world which adheres (maybe with even more originality), to
his need to scrutinise reality in the folds of detail. |
