By this point, reality is entirely included in a detail. The greenness, in this very green region, is the constant, inevitable and powerful subject – but at the beginning of the 1970s they become true and proper “Periods”. The pictures are completely green or mainly green.
There is still an “unforegoable” romantic vein, but the possession of reality becomes almost scientific. He wants to depict man, a man who enters nature which he is interwoven with, man who is always alone listening to himself.
They are wide ranging compositions in which Lucatello tends towards an open and broad research, an image which passes traditional limits to open itself up to a dimension where matter floats, just like in cosmic space.
